Columbus Recreation and Parks and CAPA have partnered to kick off summer on the Scioto Mile with the first-ever Rhythm on the River Music Festival. Admission is FREE!
Beginning at 11am on Saturday, June 1, the Bicentennial Park stage will host a spectacular, day-long roster of local, regional, and national music artists from a wide variety of genres, including funk, soul, blues, jazz, rock, R&B, and gospel, culminating in a headlining performance by world-renowned American rock/blues band, The Fabulous Thunderbirds.
Previously a summer evening concert series, Rhythm on the River has transformed into a free, day-long, downtown music festival that will also offer a variety of food truck and beverage options for event-goers to enjoy.

For more than 30 years, The Fabulous Thunderbirds have been the quintessential American band. The group’s distinctive and powerful sound, influenced by a diversity of musical styles, manifested itself into a unique musical hybrid via such barnburners as “Tuff Enuff” and “Wrap It Up.” Co-founder Kim Wilson, the sole original member, spearheads the current lineup of Johnny Moeller (guitar), Steve Gomes (bass), Kevin Anker (keyboards), and Wes Watkins (drums).
