Based on the true story of one of the most notorious mutinies in the British Royal Navy, Mutiny on the Bounty pits Laughton’s vicious Captain Bligh against Gable’s First Mate Fletcher Christian in a power struggle that holds the ship’s crew in the balance. After enduring Bligh’s tyranny on the voyage from England to Tahiti, Christian organizes a mutiny and sets Bligh and his followers adrift to return to Tahiti and the woman he loves there. However, when Bligh is rescued, he pursues Christian to exact his revenge.
